Ski from Mittersill with green energy
With the implementation of a photovoltaic system, Blizzard is launching its own supply of electrical energy. After completion of the first construction phase, the plant supplies electricity for ski production in Mittersill.
The total project with an investment of € 640,000 comprises four phases, two of them will be completed until July this year and the full implementation will take place in 2018. The completed project generates 430,000 kWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to approx. 15 % of the own electricity demand or the supply of approx. 130 households.
According to the ecological footprint, 583 tons of CO2 emissions are currently generated, equivalent to 2.8 tons per employee (the average in Austria is 7.4 tons per inhabitant, in USA 16.4 tons). In order to neutralize CO2 emissions, 47 beeches are required, the improvement by the photovoltaic plant is 158 tons per year.
Thanks to efficiency improvements and energy saving measures, we have already been awarded as “klimaaktiv company of the Republic of Austria” and “umwelt blatt salzburg”. The photovoltaic plant will further reduce our environmental footprint and strengthen our role as a “partner company SALZBURG 2050” for the future.A great thank you goes to our mother Tecnica Group and to the country of Salzburg, as well as to our most important project partners – Energieautonom, Elektro Bernhard, Roofer Wimmer, and the Salzburger Sparkasse for the support of this long-term, strategic & sustainable project.
